Welcome to

Twitchy Tails Critter Care

I’m Zash, Owner and Lead Critter Sitter at Twitchy Tails, and I’m excited to get to know your animals!

I’ve been around animals my whole life, quite literally! Growing up, we had everything from cats, hamsters, and dogs to angora rabbits and walking stick insects. Helping take care of our critters was something I started doing at an early age. By my early teens, friends and neighbors were frequently hiring me to take care of their pets, too. When a friend suggested I try pet-sitting professionally in late 2022, I realized I had found my calling!

My critters are a part of my family, and I treat yours with that same care. Just like people, every animal is different, so their needs are, too. “Pet care” isn’t just putting some food out and cleaning a litter box; I’m here to make sure your pets’ social needs are being met, whether that’s playing with toys, giving them all the cuddles, or just keeping them company while they lounge. I believe in taking my cues from the animal, which gives space for even the more timid creatures to get to know and trust me at their own pace.

When I’m not taking care of critters, I enjoy fiber arts; crafting; reading; movies; D&D and other tabletop roleplaying games; and a wide variety of board, card, and video games. I live with my partner, our cats, Lonnie, Willow, and Maomoa; and our tiny dog, Pip.

From fish to felines, dogs to goats — I’ve helped care for all kinds of animals since I was a kid. In 2011, I enrolled in the Teens4Animals program at Hawaiian Humane Society where I became a volunteer and education intern. After moving back to Washington State, I decided to make a career pivot and began pet sitting in March 2025.

My family has rescued all of our dogs, and I learned their proclivities and triggers. Most of all — I learned that every animal has their own preferences to what makes them feel safe and comfortable. I bring that knowledge, along with my volunteer experience, to every home I work in to ensure pets can keep a routine they’re used to.

When I’m not looking after your fuzzy friends, I’m writing, drawing, painting, playing video games or Dungeons & Dragons, or reading.

Growing up on my grandparents farm led me to a life with animals. At home the dogs were more than just a responsibility, and over the years I became an unofficial vacation spot for friends and families pets. Sometimes that led to housesitting requests as well, and eventually I learned about apps like Rover.

Now moved to the Olympia area, I look forward to working with all kinds of pets. Dogs, cats, birds and even reptiles. My focus is to give them the attention they deserve.
